o sh!T help!!! please
Hey all, today i was rotating the tires on my mom's lexus gx470 (2004) and we had her all done an it was my friends job to tighten the lugs on the right rear tire. well he tightened one of them and then we took it for a spin.... felt the weird feeling and knew instantly what happened...
well atleast the tire didnt come off but i blame myself for not checking it. Well we stopped and jacked it up, tightened the lugs but the on of them got cross threaded big time. i cranked on it and snap! broke the thread off
still have 5 lugs on so its ok for now but what can i do?
please help!!

im not sure about the lexus but most vehicles you can knock out the old stud with a hammer and get the new one set... but make sure that you tighten the lug all the way down or that nut will come loose over time
Change the wheel stud in about 40 minutes including jacking the Vehicle up. Very straight forward.
Take the wheel off. Followed by the two 17mm caliper bolts. Wiggle loose the rotor and undo the brake shoes. Next take a nice mallet and bang the stud out.
To install the new one, take your impact wrench or four way and torque down a lug nut on some sort of spacing device. I used two box wrenches. Put it all back together and you are home free.
Oh and don't forget to have the vehicle's emergency brake off and the vehicle in neutral to make your life a little easier.
Part is likely dealer item, you can try the zone or napa though
