Nose in or back in?
I think this might be an interesting discussion. I drive a 2013 f150 super crew with the 6.5' bed. It's a long truck at just over 20' long and has an insane 57' turning diameter. I find that nosing into a parking spot in the typical Walmart style parking lot is nearly impossible without a 3-5 point turn, and backing out is just as challenging. On the other hand, I can back in on the first shot and be nicely centered in the space, and pulling out is super easy, though i do need every inch of the lane to do it. Also, considering that the typical space is only about 18' long (plenty long enough for your typical 14' long SUV), I need to use every inch of it to minimize how long my nose sticks out. If it weren't for the backup camera, I don't think I could reliably put my back bumper inches from the car or pole behind me.

I couldn't tell you the last time I pulled any vehicle nose in to a parking spot. Everywhere I've worked in the last 15 years has reverse parking requirement, and it is just habit for me. Driving the truck, everything about backing in is easier.

This^^. If pull through not possible I back in, preferably out away from most cross traffic and pedestrians. I dont mind walking.
Back in but not only in trucks. It is easier to see cross traffic, vehicles, pedestrians and carts looking forward. Backing in to park cross traffic is not normally encountered (it is blocked by parked vehicles on the sides), backing out of a parking spot will be into a traffic aisle. KM
I always back in if I can. Very infrequently will I pull forward into the space, but sometimes it is more convenient if it's busy and you just need to get into the spot or if the bed and tailgate would be blocked for loading upon my return.
