Someone backed into my front bumper in a parking lot and cracked my one bumper pad....i didnt notice any other damage, no dents, not even a scratch on the metal bumper...then i noticed this while i was checking and i just wanna know if this is normal because i never noticed it before...

Is this supposed to be like this between the metal bumper and the piece above it? Did the plastic piece pop out or is it meant to be like that? I just never noticed it before and im not sure if it popped out somehow or not, i dont think it did because i dont see anywhere really for it to go if you pushed it back...i just wanna make sure...i have a 2014 xlt btw...

 

Its kinda hard to tell from the photo what I'm looking at. Possibly a photo in the daylight from a wider view , then close up view. sorry.
But if the bumpa was hit. Chances are something moved back or up or both.
