Default New To The Site

Hey guys. This is my first post on this board. I am a member on several other forums, so I know a forum is the best place for me to find info on what I am looking for.

Wednesday last week, someone pulled out in front of me and totaled my Ranger. Thankfully, we both walked away with minor injuries. However, I am now in the market for a new vehicle, and I want to up size. An F150 is what I am interested in. I don't have a huge budget, so I am obviously looking for something used. I would like something 2004 and newer. The main question I have is what years (if any) should I stay away from, and/or does any certain year seem to have more problems than the others? I want a 4x4, so do any of you know if there are any known problems with the four wheel drive system?

I know I asked several vague questions, but I'm just trying to do some research so that I don't get burned. My Ranger was a 1995 and I only paid $500 for it, so I kind of walked into it knowing that there would be a lot of maintenance in my future with this truck. If I am going to pay $10,000 or more for a new truck, I would rather not adopt a huge laundry list of maintenance as well. Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated!

08 would be your best year...don't know if that's in the budget though
Heads were re-designed and a lot of timing issue's resolved..4WD system is the same 04-08 and if properly maintained works well. Good luck with your search...and welcome to the boards...

Thanks, bud.

I'm very new to the market on these trucks, so I still have a lot of learning to do. Anyone else have any suggestions?
