Default New 2013 F-150 Limited Tomarrow! Or Not?

The last Truck I owned was a new 1999 Dakota, and a older GMC 3/4 ton. I currently own a 2011 300C. I love the car but its time for something diff.
I trade cars about every 1.5-2 years, and I have been eyeing the newer F-150's for about a year now. I have also looked at the Avalanche and Ram. The '13 Rams are close optioned out to my 300C so it seemed like a good match for me, but I keep coming back to the F150 Limited. Ruby Red!
My numbers are such I am getting the $54,565 truck for $49,984 then $4250 in rebates. I am taking a loss (as I always do) owing $31,300 on my car but they are giving me $28,900 trade. So in the long and short I a, paying $49,900 in then end including all document, taxes, title work.
So I look at it as I am getting a new F-150 Limited for $49,900 out the door, and walking away from my 300c that is 2 years old.
Am I crazy!
I talk to the dealer tomarrow to decide, I am tempted to ask for the bed liner too seal the deal but I suspect they will say no as they said they would not discount it as it comes from another vender.
I am going to get a Line-X bed liner $450 and some sort of bed cover to secure and store luggage for my trips to Florida, and to tow my Bike there and back. I generally borrow friends and relatives trucks 3-4 times a year so it will be nice to have a truck for that and also to arrive places in style.
My last Ford was an 1985 Mustang 5.0, and years later a 1993 Escort Wagon. Nothing against Ford, they just never had anything I liked before.
I a, going to miss many of the features I had on my 300C, but gain others with the F-150. Driving the F-150 is much more pleasurable and smoother, more controlled than either the Avalanche or RAM.
Thanks for listening!

My vote is to stay away from the Avalanche. Did not have good luck with mine.

When I first saw the Ruby Red I thought it was ugly! But it grows on you

akakillroy I'm not trying to start anything but I think your crazy. Why do you buy something new about every 2 to 3 years? Me personally I keep something for years, like 10 minimum cause then you finally get your money out of it. That's just what I think, and as stated before not trying to cause any trouble just wanted to know why??

Some dealers will throw things like that in. My 07 f150 they put a higher class hitch on my truck . They sent it to a place and they put it on before i picked the truck up.

No you are not starting anything that has not already been brought up by my wife and friends. But they all know me and know my attention span for cars is very limited. ;-)

Default Have you considered.....

...leasing versus buying?

Like you, I change cars or trucks every couple of years.

I'm not going to keep them very long....so I put as little money into them as possible.

We have a 2012 Mercedes C350 Coupe......two year lease, 7500 miles per year (my wife doesn't drive it long distances)....cost $2000 to drive it off the lot....$439 a month.

2013 F150 FX4 loaded...three year lease, 12000 miles per year....$3000 to drive it home....$498 amonth.

I buy, as I loose my money off the top of my trade, so I figure that is my lease down payment ;-) And generally do not want to give up the cash up front.

The dealer is also telling me that if I take the $1000 offer from Ford Credit I have to keep the load with them for 90 days? is that right, others have said all I have to do is keep it for one payment cycle. If I have to keep it for 90 days, then I only save like $500, not sure it is worth the paperwork.

You can pay it off the next day if you want. No reason to keep it with them.
