Need some advice.
Hi everyone,
I, unfortunately, am having problems with the loss of power steering on my 2011 f150 and reading the available information here it looks as though this is going to be very expensive.
Normally I don't ask for help but I am getting desperate, please let me explain.8 years ago I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and it has ruined my life to be blunt. I am a 2 time veteran, Marine Corps and National Guard and I
was a carpenter. Medical discharge from the Guard because of the RA,this after losing everything because of the housing market crash and lack of employment, I managed to put myself through college with student loans and VA VocRehab assistance, and graduated this spring at 55 years old. I even got a job to start at the end of the month with the federal government on the other side of the country. But now I need this problem fixed and what I'm asking for is any information I can use such as how do I contact Ford about this issue and hopefully get some assistance from them? My truck only has 62000 miles and has been a good vehicle so far, but I am sick to my stomach about having to get deeper in debt by spending several thousand dollars before I even am able to start my new job in order to fix this well known issue that by all rights, sounds like it should be covered by a recall according to everything I've been reading. Any insights into what I can do will be greatly appreciated!

This just happened today so I'm planning on heading to the dealership tomorrow, I'll ask them thanks.
Things rings a bell.....
I have a nasty case of RA also. A few years ago I was having problems with my ‘09 FX4. It acted like I was loosing power steering. The steering wheel would bind and make it very hard to steer. This was killing me - my shoulders and elbows were so painful after driving it.
Turned out to be the center steering column shaft - the lower u-joint was seized up. The service guy showed it to me after they changed it out - it was so stiff I couldn’t believe it didn’t break - I would have ended up in the ditch.
