First Delema on First F-150
Hi all
I am having trouble with my first truck purchase. I of coarse have my dream truck in mind, I even know where it is. But some realism has hit me and I am not so positive I can get my Dream Truck so I am left with finding an older one with some ideas as to what I can be happy with until I go get my Dream. The current generation F-150 is likely out so anything from about 2014 to 2005 probably be the era to get. My musts are Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum Supercrew, 5.5Box, Great Stereo Bluetooth Tech ( listen to my Ipod a lot), V6, Regular Gas, no lift kits, Basic tires, Floor shifter center counsel, Basic Trailer hitch, and if I can get one new or settle for close to it it would be best and the least changes or complicated addons demanding more service and realistic miliage under 120K is best. I prefer Black, BIue, Green. I am currently looking for work and Have applied to Several Ford Dealers Near me so I don't know if I did get a job with them , which I really want, could I work on getting the Dream, I Don't Know never heard of it or know how and my future is unclear ATM. But in the mean time I have to get my Truck Ford F-150 until things change. Don't know the time. So I figure something between 2005 till about 2010 is a place for me but I don't know Where to start and not sure what balance would be best for me giving my ideas, wants and situation. I'm looking for any advice or suggestions is welcome. Thanks

If you are searching for idea in prices, look at Carmax for retail.DO you have a set budget?

Old Fart
You can also look at FX2 and FX4 with the Luxury package. My FX2 is basically a Lariat with Black interior.

Fx4 is a package, not a trim. Fx2 isn't an available package currently.

Your first step is going to be setting a budget, then you can search Craigslist, Autotrader, and local dealerships to see what fits within your budget. It sounds like you’re currently out of work, so getting a loan will be tough. That’s not a big deal if you plan on paying cash, but be prepared to have to put a larger down payment down if you do happen to get a loan and you’re unemployed at the moment.
I think Bluetooth is only available on the newer trucks with Sync. However, I wouldn’t let that be a deciding factor if you find an older truck you like, it’s pretty easy to sway out head units to an aftermarket one that will support streaming music from your phone.
