I know, I’ve check a few shops in PA and NC, all the same quote. Just a bed alone from place that is rust free is $3000-$3700 without any prep, paint or install.

20 3.5L without knowing more details. I would avoid a 5.0L with 3.31 gear ratio unless it is strictly a daily driver on lowland roads. The ratio is too low for hilly areas or towing.
