Hey Guys, I came to the experts! Can someone plese help me with a Check Engine light problem. First how can I reset the light and see if it comes back and next, the Code is PO442. I own a 2000 F-150 with the 5.4 Triton engine, 2wd, Club cab. Thanks in advance

 

P0442 is Evap leak or gas cap is loose. I had that on my old car and bought a code reader from Costco about 1-2 years ago and would just reset it. I would reset it a few days before inspection and it would show up as Not Ready on the inspection report and it would pass.

You can get an OBD II reader pretty cheap. There is some on amazon for about $30. They sell them at most autoparts stores and you can probably find them at Walmart as well.
