Mysterious black box

Hi
does anyone know what a little square plastic box,screwed on by my right knee,drivers side that says 'ghost" be for?

There is a Ghost brand immobiliser. But without images or stickers on the box who knows. Follow the wires to see what kind of hack installation you have

I did not take it off or try to remove but when you say immobilizer does that refer to some sort of theft prevention?

As already suggested, post pics of the box. And, follow the wires and describe or post pic of where they go.
