Default Is my navigation really fried? $1400 to replace?!?!?!

202 F150 KR...all I did was click on the navigation "restore factory defaults". Now, my GPS does not work at all. Nothing other than the Ford logo comes on the screen.

I have tried resetting with the VOL + right arrow buttons and also disconnected the battery (for hours) to no avail.

Dealer says I need a new module. This is a tough pill to swallow on a 3 year old truck. All I did was restore the factory defaults. Seems pretty bizarre.

Any thoughts?

Not under warranty? Even if close I'd make a case for Ford to replace that on their dime. I know that some manufacturers are pretty good about stuff like that. Toyota is REALLY good. They replaced a leaking rear window at no cost even though I was about a year out of warranty. Replaced real leaf springs at 200,000 and reimbursed me for a U-Joint that went bad at 170,000.

Go aftermarket. Automakers aren’t in the business of making good radios (or whatever they’re called now) as it is.
