MPG with gear swap 2011 5.0
Alright I'm sure this has been answered but I have been searching Google for the past hour and have not been able to get the answer to my question.
So I have a 2011 XLT 4x4 5.0, I have 35s on it, and my gears are 3.55, I am getting 12.5 mpg traveling with my tuner. I am Wondering if my mpg well go up if I switch to 410? I dident buy the truck for good gas milege, but I have low milege and I'm trying to decide if the gears will pay themselfs off in gas over the next couple years. So if anyone has done this and can tell me what kind of milege you are getting after the switch that would be awesome!
Thanks!

You would have to own the truck probably another decade to get your money back on the cost of a gear install. If at all.
Don't look at it like that.
Also, you'll want a custom tune to maximize the performance from a gear change.

Well thanks for the response but I'm still looking for actual number, with only 10xxx miles I will have the truck for a long time, and it was a family members so I got a great deal and I will not ever sell it. I already am running a custom tune, and they will update the tune for free if I do the gears. So I'm just wondering what people are actually getting not just an opinion lol thanks though

I have the 5.0, 34" tires and went from 3.55 to 4.11 gears, so I have more than just an opinion.
My MPG remained the same (16-17). I didn't have illusions about them getting significantly better. And certainly wouldn't ever expect to "get my money back" on gas. You're talking a few thousand dollars invested and maybe if you're lucky getting a fraction of that back every year. But at the same time, there's no real accurate way to calculate it. Could it get better? Sure.
So just focus on the decreased sluggishness and downshifting you would get. It will be there.

You can get a full kit for 1000-1200 probably. It's never a job I would ever entertain or have any shop do unless I trusted them. Mine was done by a guy that owns his own 4x4/Jeep shop and does gear swaps daily....himself.

I run 37/12.50R20LT's in the summer, went from 3:55 to 4:11's and if I keep my foot out of it I can get 18MPG easily. I also run a Jet computer chip. Speedometer read correct now.
Check out this gear package, this is what I'm running.
