Most uncomfortable driver's seat
#31
I found out I don't need to remove the seat to get the padding in. Just remove the two screws for the side panel and remove that, then pull the clips off that side and the one on the front and lift the cushion up. I pulled out 1" of foam, and now the seat feels just about right. I took a picture of both front seats to compare them.
I asked the tech who repaired the passenger seat on Thursday and did the alignment, how the seat felt. He said it was very comfortable, really cushy and wondered why.

Those seats in my post above are Lariat heated/cooled. Just make sure that the opening for the fan is cut out in the padding that is added and they will work.

Not sure if the seats are the same, but the one's in my ' 13 are the most comfortable seats I've ever had in a vehicle period. Made a couple long trips in it this past summer and I didn't feel the need to have to get out and stretch like I do driving anything else. They are just basic cloth power seats.

The seats and lumbar in my ‘03 XL are great. The seat hugs me and the lumbar could punch a kidney out if I needed it to. My friend’s ‘14 SCrew STX seats are solid, too.
My ‘08 SCrew seat base was flat, non-supportive and the lumbar was subpar, to say the least. The only time I really felt that seat was when a 17-year old rear-ended me driving his mom’s PT Cruiser for the first time. My shoulder blade didn’t appreciate it so much.
Next gen F150 should have some sweet base model seats then!

I have no complaints from my 14 Lariat seats. acdii did you notice any reduced performance from your heated cooled seats after you added the foam? I feel like mine take to long to cool as it is, heating works great though.

I just bought a 12 F350, the cooling for the drivers seat doesn't seem to cool, but the fan blows. I will have to compare it to the 2012 FX4 seat from an F150, I think they may be the same, in which case I have spare parts for it.

Actually I think it improved it a bit for cooling. They never worked very well to start with, so any extra bit of air helps I guess. It may have helped that the openings in the foam were larger than that in the cushion so the air could spread a bit before hitting the diffuser in the cover.

Thanks, when I get time I will try it just for cooling.

Make it funnel shaped getting wider at the top, thats how mine came out, so that might be the trick.
