Question Modifications

Hi everyone, not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'm modifying an F150 for work and I was wondering about the feasibility/practicality of joining the cab and bed by basically just cutting a hole in the back wall of the cab. Don't know how much context this post needs but the hole would have an area of ab 150 in2. Just wanna know if it'll compromise the integrity of anything or if there's something in there I should be careful of removing! Thanks in advance

Like a sleeper in a Big truck?
I would think if you cut thru you would need to just build a frame around the hole.'
What year is it?

yeah kind of like a sleeper except the cab cutout would be lower. That's what I was thinking too, just wasn't sure if there was something in between that might be important. It's a 2019 lariat

Well walk in sleepers are down to the floor. You mean like to the floor bed level?
I think you would just have to make a brace, you will need something to support the rest of the cab.

The old trucks use to have a gas tank there.

What are you exactly are you planning on doing?
Like a camper body on the back and you can get in by the cab? The whole back of the cab or just like an entry?
Make sure nothing is running thru that part.

Actually something completely different haha. At an autonomous vehicle company and I'm trying to package electronics in the bed and have access to some ports and run fans and whatnot from inside the cab so the backseats aren't just filled with electronics

MInes been hanging off for 3 years now. I asked them to replace under warranty and dealership said no. Quoted $120 for a new one.
