Default LT tires

This Monday I had a set of LT275/55R20 installed on my truck. The stock tires where P275/55R20. Last night on my way home from work I was hearing like a rubbing sound cold that be the LT tires. Also when I apply the breaks you have it them grind. On the first day I had them on I didn't hear anything.

Sounds like you need new brakes...you installed the same size tires...why would they be rubbing.

I didn't know if the LT made a difference. I take a look at the breaks next week.

Is there a difference in tire pressure between LT and P. My door calls for 36 psi

Yes, I keep my LT's at 55lbs with a empty truck. They can go up to 80lbs. Read the side of the tires. I know my tire sensors indicate a low tire with the idiot light at 45lbs or lower.

Wink

Just for curiosities sake, check the Lug Nuts to be sure they are tight. A few years ago I had a '91 Tracer LTS 5-speed. I had a set of Snow tires put on a set of stock steel rims, and had the set installed for winter. On the way I home I felt a vibration in the front end. Thought maybe a tire was balanced incorrectly. The next day I went out to run some errands and the vibration got worse. So when I got home I looked at the tires for a bubble in the sidewall. That's when I noticed a lug was noticeably sticking out further than the others. I was able to grab it with my fingers and turn it by hand. Holy Crap! So I jacked the car up and discovered that ALL the lugs were loose, at all four corners! and on the front tires half were only hand tight. So, I always check my lugs now. Might be something for you to check........

That depends on whether the LT's are load range C or load range E. A load range C maxs at 50 PSI. And 40 PSI is a good unloaded pressure.
