So with the 2015s is this still an issue? Since the tailgate can only be locked and unlocked electronically and the manual lock is gone.

Just wondering if I should take extra steps to protect my new girl.

I guess the only time your tailgate might sit unlocked is if you leave your car unlocked too?

If they punch out the lock, they're going to defeat the Master lock.

Well guess it won't hurt to put them on. Seems a cheap little piece to assist in slowing someone down if I get dumb and leave my doors unlocked.

I bought one of those special tailgate locks, now I forgot where I put the key.

If a thief wants something bad enough they will get it, no argument there but that extra step to grab something they can easily do on another truck with NO lock, I think you understand what I'm saying now.

Just like the security system on my house, do you think a thief will bust my door in knowing it's protected and monitored by ADT and my own security camera system or do you think they will hit the neighbors house with no protection or surveillance?

^bingo.

It's not about becoming invincible it's just about becoming a harder target. Criminals usually aren't willing to work for their money, that's why they're criminals.

So back to the first post. I'm really having a hard time believing that a tailgate costs $6k.

There's a brand new raptor takeoff with camera on my local craigslist for $800 obo and it's been on there for at least a month.
