Lift/Level recommendations with tire size help
Hi everyone,
Let me first start off by saying thank you for having me. But secondly let me apologize if I posted this in the wrong section. I made a legitimate effort to find the right place. If I was inccorect please let me know and I will Remove and repost.
I am new to the forums. I have used this one inparticular for work and upgrades for my 2011 blue jean super crew XLT 3.5L ecoand my 2013 Ignot silver super crew XLT 5.0L. I have some specific questions soI decided to join this forum which I found to be the most helpful through outthe years. And maybe I can give some of my experience to other members.
I had an extremely poor lapse in judgment andpurchased a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. It's lasted literally 3 weeks before Idecided it was time to go back. I did a custom order 2017 magnetic 5.0L supercrew XLT sport. It will be here the 29th after 6 grueling weeks of waiting.
So with this new truck first upgrade is leveling. Iam looking at Bilstein 5100's all the way around or Eibach pro truck sportalong with their spring kit (if available). I am only wanting about 2"lift so there will be a slight take for mild towing. Following that is a tire upgrade on the stock 18" rims.
So the question is what would be the"biggest" tire I can fit with no rubbing or trimming. With a 2"level kit without looking gaudy. I prefer a "Baja" look that's why for now I will be reusing the 18" rim.
Can you post pictures of what you have done similar so I can get a visual?
What are your experiences if any with bilstein 5100's?
Any experiences with Eibach pro sport kit?
Does anyone make a leveling coil over spring forthese F-150's so I don't have to "preload" as much? So I can just upgrade the struts (bilstein or eibach) and leave it at the lowest perch setting and actually lift the truck with only the spring?
Later on when I am home I will use a device that I have example pictures of what I am trying to achieve along with some tire sizes I believe I want or slightly bigger. Side note, of all the things I am familiar with andcan do tire sizes, offsets etc. are some things I never really dived into depthwith. Most help would be in this area metric to standard conversion and whatnot.
Any help is greatly appreciated especially pictures.

I don't have 18's (I have 20's) so can't help with pics. There are so many threads with this same question folks want you to use the search feature. Anyway,
285-70-18 will be about the widest tire with a taller sidewall. If you want an even taller side wall/skinnier tire you could do (maybe) 275-75-18. Not positive on that one. Hopefully we'll get a few more folks to chime it.

For those that care eibach informed me that these pro kit springs will be able to accomplish 2.7" lift by themselves. They just got released to manufacturing and will be ready the end of July.

This is one of the options I am looking at.

iDrive thanks for the response. I am trying to go wider and a little taller. I don't want to have a tall skinny tire.
I do completely understand that people would want me to search and I tried I came up with some minor information. It was almost better to use google for the question while adding f150 forum into the search. Maybe I am not using it correctly?
I would be open to a 20" rim but for now gonna shoot for 18"

Any bigger an I start to feel like it fills the wheel well to much for so little lift.

I would be careful going higher than a 2" level as you start to throw off the geometry of the CV's. And, post in the 2015+ forum when asking questions about your new truck. You'll get a lot more responses.
Good luck and congrats on your new truck.

Thanks that is what I always heard and how I understood it thats why I was skeptical when the Eibach rep said 2.7" lift wouldnt be enough to warrant an UCA replacement. Or anything else for that matter. It didnt make sense to me.
My only decision now is Eibach or Billys and/or some sort of lifting coil over spring which I cant really find other than the Eibachs.
