Default Forgot my lien?

So I received my title a week ago and noticed immediately there was no lien on it and was a bit confused. So now, I get a letter from the dealer saying they forgot to put the lien on it and would like me to return the title to them.

Am I obliged to do anything about this you think? I'm sure I will either way, just curious. Considering I had to register it due to them not really knowing how to register it out of state, I was far from impressed already.

Do the right thing, just don't do it right away.

The truck is yours, the title doesn't lie. If you overpaid $5000 do you think they're going to beat down your door to give it back?

Actually, I know a layer I could ask. I'll see what she thinks.

I don't plan on rushing by any means but I expect to start getting calls soon, lol. Thanks for the input.

Default It's the bank that provided the loan that cares

about having their interest in the truck documented.
The bank could just cancel the loan as their recourse for not documenting their interest in the vehicle. It likely won't be finders keepers losers weepers situation.

Not sure how this will play out but curious since my Ranger ended up this way. Bought it out of state and went to get the tag and have registered. The girl filled out the paperwork wrong stating it had no lien. I found out 6 weeks later when I got a title to a new truck that I owed $17k on. I took it back and told them I thought they might want the title back. The ghost white look on their face told me it could have been bad for someone other than me. Apparently, that girl had screwed up several in her few months of being there.

So you sign contracts to borrow money for a vehicle. Someone made a mistake and sent you the title and some of you feel he is entitled to keep the truck?

So that makes you what? You have no character, no integrity, and you're a thief.

Depending on the state when you go to register the car the DMV will see there is a lien on the vehicle and you will have to surrender it then. Quit being an *** and do the right thing.
