jkeaton224 - Wow, did you get the notice in the mail? I'm waiting to get mine so I can get my dealer to start the paperwork to get me paid back....
Guess you saw my comments up above just had the issue happen last week and had it repaired yesterday.... Good Luck!

I have not received a notice in the mail yet for my truck, only on my carfax carcare app and reading about it online.

I still have my previous (sold) 2017 F150 on the carfax care app, as I use that app to track all maintenance that I preform, and it shows that truck is included in the recall.

I do love that those types of software fixes on my 2025 are OTA which means no dealer trip. I go to the dealer as little as I possibly can.

Ford should refund the $1300 I already paid to get it replaced.
Dumb Question (1 of my many LOL) , My 2015 F150 did one of these down shifts . Fortunately I have access to the best independent transmission shop I've ever known. I took the truck to him and immediately knew what the problem was and replaced my lead frame with a new one bought from Ford. Total bill ~ $1,300 . Any outside chance I could be reimbursed by Ford for any of this ?

You should be able to get reimbursed, when the full recall hits, call your local dealer and explain the situation

Hopefully, you kept receipts. Ford customer service told me to keep receipts so if they ever recalled my 2011, that I could get reimbursed.

I have a P0722 output shaft speed sensor no signal. Never downshifted like described in this thread, but went limp mode on a few occasions. Will the lead frame be replaced in this recall?

Letter in the mail says recall fix is not available until July. Does that mean at the earliest, meaning the actual repair date could be much later? As if there's a queue?

The Ford F-150 lead frame recall software update recalibrates the truck's Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to prevent unintended, dangerous downshifts into first gear. It gives the computer a buffer to detect faulty sensor signals without immediately forcing a harsh gear change. There is no actual hardware replaced unless you experience an issue prior to the actual recall fix being available.
You could take your truck in for repairs now and they would have to replace hardware that you will pay for out of pocket but can then file for reimbursement in July after official letter comes out

I had the fault code and experienced a downshift going down highway at 65 mph, limp mode. This happened 3 days before the actual recall notice was mailed out in April 2026. My dealer replaced the entire valve body which includes the lead frame. When the actual recall letter comes out in July my dealer will file with Ford for reimbursement. I am out pocket $2,700.00, dealer says I should get a check first of August. Believe me I will remind them when the recall letter comes out in July.

Please note that a recall Notice letter goes out, which you should have already received, then the actual recall letter stating the fix is available will be mailed out mid July.

It B.S. man, they should replace the lead frame in all affected vin's. This recall does not fix the actual hardware failure issue.

Only VIN #'s affected by this recall will get a notice. Not all vin#s will get a notice as the recall does not apply to sequential vin's.
Go here to type in your vin to see if you are affected:
