I just got a 2012 FX4, blk on blk loaded out. My wife likes the wood, but I really like the overall look of the FX4. You can buy a replacement wood package for about $300. You might also consider the Lariat probably has a 355 gear, the FX4 has 373. Mine also has the ecoboost, which I absolutley like better every day.

New '13 F150 owner here---traded in my '06 F350 SCREW 6.0L Diesel

I started out wanting the FX4, but ended up with a fully loaded Lariat instead (with off-road).

The main reason for me was the FX4 did not have the rear fold down armrest, which for me became a huge deal (for some reason)....

I drove them both and have to say I LOVE my decision so far.

Maybe it is because I am getting older (over 40) but all the chrome looks really nice to me.

Who knows why or how that one little thing hit me like that and actually made me buy a truck with more options than I wanted, all over an armrest.

Regardless, I am loving this thing so far.....but am missing the power from my F350 (she was a tad tweaked )

I went with the Lariat with Max Tow and Off Road Package, and the 501A package with rear view camera and trailer brake controller. I looked at the FX4 but didn't want the floor console with shifter in place of 20 seat in the front, and pay extra for it to boot. I have found the six passenger capacity useful. I tow an RV Trailer so I got the best options for towing. They have different styling. Stay away from slide in bed liner. I've read that they trap water/moisture which cause rust.
