Lariat vs FX4

Lariat vs FX4
Hi everyone. I just wanted some opinions on what people thought. I 'm trying to decide between these two trucks and was hoping for some more info. Here are the details:
2012 FX4 4X4
5.0L
Tuxedo Black
Luxury Package
Moonroof
Sony Nav
Plastic bed liner
Power folding mirrors
Tailgate step
Remote start
Or
2012 Lariat 4X4
5.0L
Sterling Grey
Offroad Package
Tailgate step
Spray in bed Liner
Black leather
Upgrade to Sony stereo no Nav
Chrome runner boards
*FX4 is about $1600 more.
Here is my issues. I have always been a GMC guy. I really like the convenience of Auto 4wd in winter. I think i would miss it. This is why i was leaning towards the Lariat. I really love the look of the FX4 with the painted bumpers. If it had the auto 4wd, it would be a no brainer. I like the Lariat because what I heard is that it will hold its value better and the fit and finish and quality of materials is better. I might be wrong. What does everyone think?

FX2 SuperCrew
Fit and finish is the same as they're made at the same plant. I went from a 2010 Lariat to a 2012 FX2 with Luxury Pkg... the only features that aren't on my FX2 are a folding armrest with cup holders in the back seat and rear map lights. As for resale value, the Lariat costs more equally opted (at least in 2wd form, not sure on 4wd), and per both Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds, did not hold it's value as well as the FX trucks in at least the first 2 years.
If you're considering between the two, it comes down to deciding which trim package you like more.
Lariat has woodgrain dash, pale blue guage lighting & needles, chrome exterior trim.
FX trucks have faux carbon fiber dash trim, white guage lighting with red needles, blackout exterior trim.
Looking at your options/cost figures below, the FX4 has NAV & Sunroof over the Lariat, but otherwise seem pretty comparably equipped. Considering $2500 for Sony NAV, $995 for moonroof, -$1000 for having both (basically get paid $5 for adding a sunroof for free) and only $1600 price difference, even if you threw in another $700 for running boards the FX4 seems like a better buy.
Does the Lariat have the Lariat Plus Package or heat/cooled buckets (close to $1k each pkg)? If not, then it has a lot less features. You get more bang for the buck with the FX Luxury package.

I just love my fx4... From the look to the ride, my buddy got a 2012 lariat and asked if I wanted to trade my 2011 fx4 for his... FX4 all the way man!

When I got my FX2, the XLT specific rebates worked with the FX but not the lariat and KR and etc...
Its possible that the rebate situation may may make the FX that much more attractive.
Can you build the exact truck you want? If so what would it be?

4x4 Lariat
I have the 4x4 Lariat 2011 5.0 and I love it, especially the leather cool seats and warm seats. 4 wheel drive **** on dash when I need it. Rides like a Cadillac
But can become a monster when need to be. Mine is fully loaded and smile every time I drive it. FX 4 is nice but can't speak to that one but I chose the Lariat with all of the options I wanted good luck with your choice

Five-0 Ret.
Trucks, welcome to the forum. I like the Lariat, no wait I like the FX4. What, uh, yeah it's the Lariat, but damn that FX4 is nice. I know how you feel. Either one will make you a great truck, and the price difference is not that much. Wish I could tell you which one would be the best, but I'm right there in the boat with you. Good luck.
PS, we will require pics of the new truck. Whichever you buy.
I got it, you can decide how often you want to wash the truck. Black is beautiful, but requires a ton more tlc to look that way. Sterling grey, sharp color with less cleaning time to stay that way. There, that was easy.
