Default Lack of Ford Popularity

Ford runs deep in my family we've always have had them, but it seems like all the kids my age that I hang out are so ignorant and hate Fords it's rather annoying and slightly pisses me off. Anyone one else have this problem? it's even more annoying considering they've never owned or even driven a Ford I never talk **** about their Chevys.

I talk sh** about GM, Dodge, and Ford. I have owned and driven the sh** out of one of each and I really just talk about the things I'd like to see improved on future models. West Texas, its a bit of a different situation cause Fords do break down more than GM and Dodges in that particular part of the state. My F150's 4.2 has been one of the most unreliable engines on the planet but the rest of the truck is just fine.

What gets me is those who keep buying Japanese/Korean because they're "reliable" without even giving ANY American product a chance.

My brother in law has a dodge got a really good deal on it. I give him crap about it all the time, the difference is he know I am kidding with him it is a nice truck. Just I prefer a FORD. I grew up a in a very chevy family. My family says it is my way to rebel. But everyone likes my truck.

Younger people tend to like the look of Chevy's and Dodge's more. If a kid where to buy a truck not knowing anything about them. They would probably choose Dodge. Because Dodge is the most eye appealing with the Ram's logo and even chevy with the bow tie. Not to mention People over hear "found on road dead" Fix or repair daily". And plus were stuck with that ugly Blue ford Symbol that I have learned to love . Now more experienced "truck enthusiest" knows that dodge uses tin for there floor pannels. Chevy is just and GM is the same as chevy. I'm glad I chose Ford over everything else.

Like I said, I like all of the trucks except for the Tundra and Frontier (you just can't take over the Texas truck market without a diesel option so stop airing the commercials). There are also factors I love about certain vehicles. For instance, I am a huge Cummins fan but that doesn't mean I like the bodies that come with them. I love Allison transmissions, but that doesn't mean I'm a fan of the IFS in front of them. I love the 9th gen bodies, but am not a PSD fan when I could have a 12-valve 5.9 instead. When it comes to getting a new to me truck, it's which one has the most features I like and more importantly trust. Traditionally my family has always been GM and Ford proud, our late 90's Fords have all been fix or repair daily cases however. Around 2000, we sold off all the Fords and got Dodges and have had many less problems with the transmissions than we had with those Fords. It's all what you trust and what has given you the best experience. I'm keeping my F150 for a long time. When the engine goes, it's getting a 4 cylinder Cummins and I'm calling it at that.

Hi guys; I join your Ford discussion if you don't mind
Ford has been for a long time in our family.. My father owned the Ford Taunus 17M, the 20M the 26m and the Fiesta. My grandad owned the 20M and allso a 26M. They were fine robust V6 equipped cars with a luxurious ride.
i my self did had two V6 Capri's, a 2300V6 Granada and an escort 1100. After 21 years of a very reliable Landrover since last year back in a Ford. To me, There is Nothing what can compare with a Ford the look is very impressive; in my opinion more than a bulky chevy or the "plastic look like Dodges". I'm hooked on my 1994 flary and I hope to own her till my retirement (that's over 14 years).
younger truckpeople here prefer the Dodge; it's very popular. Their trucks are to "nice" I prefer a rough , straightforward truck, without "Chuck Norris bullbars and lights" A workhorse to be proud of.

best regards Ton
