As far as the GTO vs. the motorcycle, even a heavy *** Harley can be pretty quick. I don't think that I would ever want to race on one though...
who starts a race at 65?? i understand what he is saying, but your not understanding what im saying. reread my posts. my car puts my buddies yammi r1 to shame. of course he cant drive for sh$t either.

walked right around him. He was all over it too. Manual trans and the nose dropped big time with each shift. We ended up next to each other at the next light he wouldn't even look at me. that's what I know. I can't say he was qualified to drive it or if he was stretching the throttle cable. But my observation by the way his nose dropped he was not ***** footing it. I have about $4000 in upgrades to my engine, Hell I have $700 in porting my heads and it's a 2 cylinder. I have payed my dues. do the math at 700 lbs VS 3500? lbs what HP to weight would you need to run with my almost 100 HP and 100+ TQ. Perhaps he was an *** hat. Whatever that is I suppose I need to consult the urban dictionary.

No mods, 5 spd, 3.0L 87 octane gas, 4wd, spray in bed liner....at sea level on a level surface. I did some driving here in the north cascades and at 5,000 ft with any kind of hill it really struggled above 55-60mph. I didn't stay there very long, but as far as a truck goes it rode pretty nice, granted not like a performance sedan, but not bad. Much better than my '83 f150 at 60 mph.

Also, it produced around the same power as my brother '01 Ranger XLT 4.0L 4x4 and did well until the higher highway speeds. My neighbor has an '00 Ranger XLT 3.0L 4x4 and says that thing is a dog at highway speeds too.
it was probably governed. my ranger before the tuner was governed at 92 MPH. some are governed and some arent.

How did I miss this thread?

I hand the OP a big amount of credit. I must say, I am all about calling someone out on BS but I absolutely HATE when a shark pit ensues. All it takes is for one person to instigate stuff (in this thread I can point out a few... a couple I am rather surprized by) and then the whirlwind ensues.

This CHEVY guy came on here to inquire about a truck that beat him like it owed him money and to offer props to the owner and some of y'all jumped down his throat with both feet for some minor details that really had nothing to do with the actual point of his post. I must say... I thought we here at f150forums had alot more integrity and intellect then to stoop to the Honda Civic crowd level.

To the OP: Props to you for keeping your cool and giving everything that some of these clowns (you know who you are) asked for- less pics, when they tried to turn this into a dick measuring contest. You clearly are a much more patient man than I since I would have told them where to go and how to get there shortly after the start of this whole ordeal.

obviously.....so you are saying just because he has a v6 chevy he wont be able to get the power to the ground?
what does this comment even have to do with my comment that u quoted? Still sounds like a bunch of unjustified **** talking and keyboard racing....

THANK YOU LENN! I share your sentiment. It seems that some of the noobs and even some who have been around for a while arent remembering or arent seeing what this site is about. This thread turned into nothing but a bunch of disrespect and immaturity.

Whoaa. I wouldn't start a race at 65 but I have toyed with other vehicles while on the interstate (can't hardly stop to take off together right). I'm not going to waste my time rereading the posts because I understood just fine. I think. Oh who cares, I wasn't trying to be an ***, just stating that traction wouldn't be an issue in that case.

Damn, I should reread your posts because I can't remember what car you drive. I thought it was a Chrysler. You can't really compare a Chrysler and an R1 to a GTO and a Harley racing. That's apples, oranges, pears, and watermelons there. I love the R1. I would be straight up embarassed getting beaten in any car while riding one of those.

Was your car the 300 that I read about somewhere in this post? My uncle has one of those. Damn nice car. I don't know what he was thinking though, he put curb feelers, the chrome wheel opening cover things, a damn silver tint stripe over the windshield, and made up some of those chrome tape rocker protector things like you would see on a four wheel drive truck. Damned shame to see a nice car treated like that. Maybe he will have added some of those Buick fender louvres to it by the next time I see it
