Default Kill Switches

Anyone run two different kill switches in their trucks? I figured thieves would thumb around looking for an ignition switch which popular. But what it there was a second switch?,..fuel, or fuse or even another ignition? Just brain storming how to prevent my baby from being taken. I know if a professional wants it, they'll take it. Nothing wrong with trying to slow them down or prevent it .

I used to do that many years ago, when cars were very simple machines. But with the newer all-electronics cars, I would not do it. I just put an almost useless steering wheel lock. At least to slow thieves down.

How long do you think it will take a thief to find this thread, read what was suggested (and what you do, if you post your decision), and then steal your truck?

Posting theft-deterrent strategies on the interwebz is dum.

Catching a thief in the act does not give you the right to shoot the thief. That's called murder. If you felt your life was in imminent danger by the thief, sure, shoot him/her.

He ‘could’ have been suggesting to hold the thief at gunpoint until the police arrive.....or maybe not.
It’s open to interpretation the way it’s written.

If you're not a cop, pointing a gun at someone who is NOT already threatening a human life is assault with a deadly weapon. Preventing a person from leaving is kidnapping.

The only thing you should point at a thief is a camera.

Y'all must be living in the wrong State. GOD Bless Texas!

A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:
(1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41 ;  and

(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:
(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime;  or

(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property;  and

(3) he reasonably believes that:
(A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means;  or

(B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.
