My father is currently using Nexen AT. Guessing a year old by now and the treads are still good but it's already showing signs of cracking. He puts on about 40-45K miles per year (work truck). Previous were BFG KO and he got 60K each time. He wanted to try something new but prolly go back to BFG.

Yeah, I wasn't happy about it, maybe just what they had in stock. If it checks I won't go back to those guys.

Take it back.

I'm one that would have found the problem myself by squirting a little Windex around the tire. Then, unless it was actually IN the sidewall, I'd have put a plug in it.

I'm not very trusting in such situations. Given that they nailed you $254 for their efforts explains why.

Probably was my own staple too!
Pull it out and put some slime in it if it's leaking, it might not even lose air from a staple. Any time you go to the tire store they are going to try to sell you something.

Been in the tire bizz for the past 38 years and not seeing it was the right tire could have happened on the job at the shop too. Go back with a good attitude and asked what happened. Could have been a honest mistake made between the office and the shop workers.
At 17,000 miles there should be a new matching tire under the truck as a spare that could have been used. Popular size, I have several used tires around that could have been used for a spare in place of the new spare.

Sorry to say but customer service isn't what it used to be at any place anymore. We're having such a hard time finding good workers that don't want to stand around looking at cell phones that were bringing back retired employees to help fill the void....

You have a bill of sale that should show which type of tire you bought...

Exactly.

A) Goodforayear tires are trash.
B) A single stock replacement tire should NEVER cost $254 regardless of brand or type.
C) They should have given you the same tire that was on the truck already. Probably didn't have one so ripped you off on what they did have.
