depami ... Nothing rhetorical or baiting about it, just trying to learn something in every possible situation.
Ya ... My bad/mis'. Was thinking (or not) that you were someone else. Had an out-of-mind experience.

... I like the plug-and-play concept of the one pictured. Any recommendations?
All of the ones noted on F150forum (JLT, RX, UPR) are essentially plug-and-play. MEANING: They have the OEM EGR hose connectors.

As for recommendation - Things to consider ...
  • efficiency.
  • capacity.
  • mounting location. *affects efficiency.
  • $$$$$

Any more pictures of this thing installed? I put one on but took it back off because I didn't like how it hung.

Catch cans are a great addition to any vehicle, especially so with the DI type engines. Even when the heavy commercial diesels went to closed crankcase design, they put factory installed filtration systems on the CCV system to keep the oily vapors out of the intake. On gasoline, what has been stated already is true. These vapors can build up oil deposits in the intake, they can cake on intake valves, they can increase carbon deposits in the combustion chamber and exhaust valves, and they can lower octane of the fuel in the combustion chamber, which if one is already using the base level of octane required, it could cause the ECM to go to low knock settings and reduce the power and efficiency.

Does anyone know what would happen if, for whatever reason, the catch can filled up?

How often do you have to empty it?

That's how mine is no problems, just make sure it's not riding on the cam sensor.

I think it should make it until a oil change, or check it every so often.

My dealer told me that any addition to the engine (catch can) to be more specific will VOID the warranty.

This is true here in Canada. I got the JTL can because it goes in and out in 30 seconds. I carry the old tubing in the box the can comes in and put it under the back seats. If I have to go in for warrenty work, out goes the can and in goes the OEM part. How would anyone know? It simply isn't possible as far as I am concerned.

I use a Conceptual Polymer High Efficiency catch can on my pickup. I have it mounted on the fender. It has a glass bowl and I can see when it needs to be emptied. I put it on at 1190 miles on the odometer, and now have about 18000 on the pickup and I have completely filled a 16 oz drinking water bottle with the crap the catch can captured from going to my intake. My dealer has seen the catch can, likes the idea, and there has been no mention about any warranty issues. Canada may be one thing, as the consumer laws are different, but in the U.S., the Federal Trade Commission has elaborated quite extensively that simple mods and using stuff that is not OEM does not qualify as a warranty buster unless the device or stuff used was in fact found to be directly the cause of the warranty issue. Gonna be real hard to prove that eliminating the oil, condensation, etc from going to the intake caused a major engine malfunction.

Take it off before truck goes to dealer, seems simple.
