injector cleaners

Question injector cleaners

someone told me that injector cleaners used in older models can loosen trash and sometimes cause the spark plugs to foul.is this true?

It can help a good bit. I think you have to put it in like every other fill up or something like that.

Yes. Had an experience doing just that. Used an injector cleaning system input via the fuel rail. A few miles on down the road, engine started running real rough. A piece of crud was found wedged in one of the spark plug gaps. One of those instances where long-term gain can mean some short-term pain.

that makes sense i think i'll pull my plugs tomorow and check them thanks for the fast response

Do an induction service with BG products. That should eliminate or damn near eliminate any problems of trash getting in the plugs or anything else.

Let a shop do it that has the product. They should have the pressurized bottle to put it in with to work most effectivly.

The best fuel injector cleaners tested by www.swri.com are Techron and FP-Plus/FP60 from www.lubecontrol.com.
