Default Improved Brakes

I have spent a couple days attempting to find information on better parts for brakes, larger rotors, etc. The search function is totally useless. The set of threads returned have nothing to do with what I am looking for. Has anyone put on better rotors? I have found references to the stock rotors warping. Not really interested in spending $5k on Wilwood 15" rotors with 6 piston calipers. Where do I look and what are the search arguments that will find these discussion in this forum?
Thanks,
-Dave
11/3/18brake upgrade https://www.f150forum.com/f118/brake-upgrade-415989/
Read this entire thread this evening and got a wealth of information.
11/17/19
Just for grins, looked up what other truck models use
2016 F150 13.78(350mm)
2016 Chevy 1500 12.99"
2016 Ram 1500 11.81
Seems like the F150 has performance sized rotors over the competition.

I've had the Powerstops on my 07 Lariat SCREW for about a year now. Nice improvement over stock, and no problems in the 8k or so miles I have on them.

I experienced the same issue and it was suggested by another member to do your search on google ie: f150forum and brakes or whatever, then you will find pertinent threads, kinda sad that you have to use another search engine to find what we are looking for

I put Centric Rotors on my 13 4 Pot Brembo Mustang and have Stop-Tech (Made By Centric) Slotted Rotors with their pads on my 13 F150 which to me was a upgrade from the Powerstops whomever had the truck before me had put on. Even after 10,000 miles no complaints

It would help if you put your truck's details into your signature.

But the short answer is: buy a truck built with bigger brakes. Ford builds trucks with enough brake for the loads they're rated to haul & tow (which means about 3x as much brake as they need when empty). If you're overloading the brakes, you're overloading the whole truck.

Also: the best rotors are Ford/MotorCraft. Any rotor with less mass (either because it's cast thinner, or has metal removed by drilling/grooving) will get hotter, causing more brake fade & faster aging of the brake fluid. Same for the pads - stick with stock. Ceramic is great if you're running 100-300 mph, but it's useless on a pickup. Just a marketing gimmick, like so many other things.

You are new, so you don't seem to know how to work the Search function of this forum.

Go to Search on the top of this page.

Go to Advanced Search.

Keyword "improved brakes", with Search Entire Posts and All Open Forums checked.

That will get you this info. https://www.f150forum.com/search.php?searchid=15186152

If these 158 threads don't have the info you want, then.....

You have to define "better" first. Better pedal feel, better heat resistance, better for keeping shiny wheels clean..these are all things that could be better.

Generally, pads that grab more effectively, especially when cold, also wear faster and are dirtier. Pads that are clean and generate less dust and last longer, like ceramics, tend to grab poorly, especially when cold. Stuff like that will help define "better".

The "warping" thing was just beaten to a pulp and buried in a very recent thread. But, apparently, it can't be killed, or has clones.

Replaced my oem craptastic rotors @ 3000 miles because of the constant shimmy when braking, be they warped or deposits they sucked, have since put about 13000+ miles on the replacement Power stop rotors and still smooth as silk, and I'm using the original pads the truck came with.

I have updated my profile. I have the HDPP with a locker. My F150 is equipped with everything to make it the best towing truck I could order. I only believe claims that are backed by facts.
