It is speedometer'd for Canada, but the MPH & as such the MPG are in U.S. not british/euro.

US models have MPG on the outer ring.

I have a 13 Screw 2wd 3.55 gear Eco and I have no issues getting 17-18+ in city and 20-22 on hwy even with my Livernois tune. Hell I was reading 20.5 mpg doing 90 on I-44 with a tail wind for 5 miles or so. The worst I've done on the hwy was 19.5 into the wind doing 75.

EDIT: My lifetime MPG is 18.7. I do mostly city driving.

2013 FX4 with 3.55 and according to hand calculating my best was
18.58mpg Highway
worst 12.21 City

It will say I am getting 20 on the highway driving the beltway in Houston for a small stretch but I calculate by hand at each fillup and these are the numbers I am getting

Complete list
18.58
16.45
13.08
12.21
16.84

The higher numbers involve mostly highway driving and the lower numbers mostly city. The 12.21 was me ******* it just to see what would happen.

See that's the problem. What people consider "city" driving.

This isn't city driving:
I think I may see a traffic light 2 miles away lol. Its actually better then general highway driving. My '07 with 3.55 gears gets its best millage at 40-50mph, anything more then that will decrease millage.

This on the other hand is city driving:

That's the reason peoples trucks get 12 MPG when they drive city. Its because its a TRUCK with a powerful thirsty engine.

When people claim high mpg when city driving is because they most likely aren't! They go through few stop signs or traffic lights. Even the epa test simulates a good amount of stopping and idling.

Ya know 'user-1', you seem awfully angry at something. I don't know what (or care what) but it sure isn't working out for you.

People are sharing THEIR experiences and there are lots of varying perspectives. just because one F150 owner's habits, driving patterns, ease on/off the throttle, driving route CHOICES -IN THE CITY-, truck setups for tires, mods, etc. are different than yours doesn't make 'user one's' the right one.

Lighten up.

And please lets not turn the thread into an attack thread when it was one new owners question to see if he could get some help to increase his trucks mileage.

Oh... and regarding "THIS IS CITY DRIVING BECAUSE THATS WHAT I SAY" - does not = YOUR miles per gallon. I can drive in that stuff and still do better than the laughable 12 mpg you claim. Just because someone chooses to drive in packed traffic - well thats a choice that can end up costing MPG. But lots of traffic can also work if it's all going at a consistent & smooth speed.

It's all about learning your trucks torque @ RPM, using the torque, anticipating lights & traffic patterns, using your gears, etc. Do you even know the exact speed that your truck upshifts from 3-4, 4-5, 5-6th gears ?.....because if you learn that, then you can start to really utilize the trucks efficiency. Also - tell me your trucks boost at 1100-1300 RPM. I know mine because I have put in the gauges to watch my engine.

Did you KNOW that the EcoBoost actually runs with no boost , thats right ZERO BOOST (No turbos at all) when you keep the RPMS low (below 1500) under light load. That makes it run as a NA V-6 engine - WHERE.... thats right, the truck runs more efficiently.

Hope that helps.

I go of by what the EPA states is city driving and highway driving. In short: https://www.f150forum.com/f2/epa-mpg...rified-205221/

The city test is a 7.5 mile trip lasting 23 minutes with 18 stops, at an average of about 20mph. About 4 minutes are spent idling (as at a traffic light), and a short freeway segment is included. The vehicle begins the test after being parked overnight at about 72˚F.
The highway test is a 10 mile trip with an average speed of about 48mph. The test is initiated with a warm engine (following the city test), and is conducted with no stops and very little idling.
So if people go off by what they consider highway/city driving there will never be a good accurate statistic for other to base off. I'm trying to clear that up.

When people consider the epa's highway driving to be city driving it creates 100 threads about people asking why their new truck dosen't achieve sticker mpg. Then you have some of those people questioning the new engines whether they are better then the old if they suck so much gas. But the real reason is because someone stated they get good mpg in the city when it was highway driving.

And I drive a 5.4, the 12 mpg was referred to the 5.4 However I have seen some people state they get 12 in the ecoboost with a light foot.
I personally never exceed 1400-1700rpm when driving city. Some things you can not avoid like traffic lights and other cars, you will have to come to a complete stop abruptly. Routes can not always be altered to avoid city driving if the business you are conducting is located in the city itself.

As for the first post I pulled an random image from the OP's city, basically to make sure it was actual epa city driving not epa highway driving like the picture shows. Then I posted what the epa's city driving would basically look like. Some traffic and stops lights every half mile or sow with an average low speed.

When people post average city driving or highway it would be nice to see in what conditions they achieved these numbers and to visually see the amount of traffic that was around.

Here's a tip since my driving is unique as I don't drive far, therefore my truck gets bad MPG, but I don't care.

Find an app for your phone that helps track your fuel to give you accurate numbers. Then look for patterns in that data to change your driving. Other than that, there isn't much you can do with the Limited. It's a heavy truck that rides high and has a lot of power. Buy a tuner but beware of warranty issues. Keep in mind as well, comparisons to other drivers will be affected my many things. Do you car pool? What do you weight? Do you always drive with a full tank, etc etc. Lots of factors when it comes to weight.

A great app I have been using for the iPhone is KiWi Gas Manager. You input Fuel cost, fuel pumped and ODO reading and it does the rest. It gives you lots of ways to look at that data as well as allows a dump to excel for your own manipulation.

For what it's worth, I bought my truck on April 23, with 850km on the ODO (demo unit). I have put about 2300km on it and I am averaging 13MPG off of real calculations, not the dash. When I drive highway for over 30 mins or so I can get the tank average up to 16-17mpg but that goes away quickly when I get off the highway. Again I don't drive it that much on the highway. I am still getting ~650km between fill ups.

Ether way, if you bought a Limited it was probably a bit more for the looks/style than the MPG, just enjoy it! It sure beats the the 300km I was getting out of a 100L tank on my old Silverado HD doing the same style of driving.

Holy Schmoley ! lol, now THAT is an upgrade / increase in ! Go Ford go !

I hear ya IaninEdm, my 1999 Pathfinder - as smooth and hypermiling as I could - the best I could do was 450 on 75 litres. Heavy vehicle, low HP (only 195) and older engine technology - I'm with you that the F150's (3.7, 3.5, 5.0 or 6.2) all make MUCH better mileage because of the transmission & way the Ford guys programmed the trucks

User-one, I live in the Tulsa city limits, and if any of you are familure with Tulsa you know there is construction everywhere, so lots of stop and go.
I dont recall reading how many miles are on your truck, but others have said that the mpg gets better after you hit 5k miles+. I only have 3k on mine.
And at this point I dont care if my truck got 10mpg I love it!! But mpg is not a huge thing for me seeing that I usually only put 7k miles a year on my vehicles. I've have put more than usual lately on my new truck because
I love driving it.

I find that my truck drinks a lot of gas just to warm up. Even if I'm cruising arterials at 30 mph with little to no throttle, the mileage is going down. But with a freeway trip up and over passes I got 18.5 mpg in 400 miles with a light load in the bed. Supercrew 4x4 3.55 ecoboost. The city driving and ooching along at 5mph on the freeway are what kill me.
