Default Ignition switch delay?

has anyone experience a delay when starting your truck? i go to turn the key to start the truck and nothing happens for a good 1-2 seconds, then the truck starts as i hold the key in the start position. i have had the truck for a month this friday, and it has happened twice.

something to be concerned about?

thanks for the feedback

You really want to blow your mind, when you go to start your truck, just get in and twist and release the key like you would have in the past. After a long second, the truck will start on it's own. Your desire to start the truck by twisting the key is just a "suggestion"- the truck will start when all is ready- not before. And, it does it all on it's own.

Hey primal,

If you're worried, you can always take your truck in to the dealer; I know they'd be happy to check things out for you. Don't want to make a special trip? You can always mention it the next time you're in for a maintenance appointment. How many miles are on it?

Same thing used to happen on my previous '13. Unsettling and odd and I planned to take it in to get checked, but tried turning it to the "on" position for a second or two, then starting.

If you want to blow your mind even more twist the key to try and start it again once it's already started!

Thanks for following up, primal. Do you plan on having your dealership take a look? I can get the delay escalated to your regional customer service manager. All I need to make that happen is a PM from you with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.
