I wouldn't get too worried about him bashing Ford or a truck designed for this side of the pond - he will quite happily rip to shreds a Euro based family hatchback - so much so in fact that Vauxhall refused to give him or Top Gear any more cars to test.

He does love Fords and once owned an Escort RS Cosworth (a car not available over here unfortunately). He has a love of all fast Fords but cannot understand Trucks as there's no the need for them in the UK olike there is over here.
He owns a Ford GT40, so he does like Ford products, just not this one.

Aaaaaand, they ranked the Ford Mondeo (the equivalent to the Taurus over here I'd think) car of the year a few years back.

The Mondeo is the European equivalent of the since-discontinued Contour. But the European version isn't poorly built like the US version and is actually a pretty good car.

it depends on the model. trust me. the modeo is equivalent to a Taurus. 16 years in england with my dad owning a modeo for 8 of them kinda gives me a little perspective on it. I'm not denying the contour is the same, but the Taurus is also.

Clarkson has since sold his Ford GT, but he was in love with it...and Hammond secretly loves all things American, so if he would've done the "test", would've been a lot better. And I'm not sure on the interior, i think they may have made it look 5x's worse than it really was, even though it did look horrible. The newer Ford's interior is much better.
