Default I never liked this guy anyhow

One of the former hosts of Top Gear really puts down the F150 SVT Lightning in this video. I never understood the reason for flaming the Lightning and I don't like at all what he said about Americans. Of course it would probably not be an appropriate truck for England but that's the only part of this video he got right.

Clarkson is a bombastic, hyperbolic brit.

Of course he doesn't like the lightening, it doens't fit in England at all. He's just being him, anyone who expects anything different from him is in for a rude awakening.

His torching of the BMW X5 is classic.

I love that show. Sure would have like to see the Stig take it on the test track.

They tell it like it is, not pulling any punches whenever there is a problem area with any car, no matter the price.
Ford should be ashamed, sending a car to be tested with an interior looking like that.Looked like a 1970 with 300,000 miles on it.

the volume of f150's sold with the righthand drive conversion was probobly less than 95%, so obviously they would not spend a lot on the development of the conversion. and the vehicle was not designed for europe and the narrow roads in the first place.

I like someones comment on that video, they said "
if it wasnt for us rednecks you p*****s would be speaking german right now. go buy you firewood in a store and f**k you yourself f-b."
I agree with that guy. screw this *****

Guys, it's HUMOR.

Dry British humor, but humor nonetheless.

I can't imagine Ford intentionally letting Top Gear critique the Lightning, knowing what the results were probably going to be.

They probably found someone in the UK that had one and rented it from him to do the show.

Clarkson is a British institution and anything he says should be taken with jest and a hint of irony.
He will quite happily lambast any nation (or part of England/Ireland/Scotland) just to get a rise out of people.
I wouldn't get too worried about him bashing Ford or a truck designed for this side of the pond - he will quite happily rip to shreds a Euro based family hatchback - so much so in fact that Vauxhall refused to give him or Top Gear any more cars to test.

He does love Fords and once owned an Escort RS Cosworth (a car not available over here unfortunately). He has a love of all fast Fords but cannot understand Trucks as there's no the need for them in the UK olike there is over here.

Everything considered, I thought it completely inappropriate and off color what he said about Americans.

You should see the episode where they came to America, bought $1,000 cars, and drove them from Miami through the south to New Orleans.

A ton of off color jokes about Americans, southerners, gun owners, fat Americans, Nascar, gays, and about everything else you can imagine.

But it was funny as hell.
