I like 5k on oil 10k on tires. Easy once you get to doing tires on 10 20 30 40 50k. And oil every 5. Never need a sticker again. But oil age isnt an issue for me lol.

What I don't understand is why hasn't the OLM illuminated and told him to change the oil?

Even if the dealer reset it at 12K when they told him the oil was fine it still would have illuminated at 10K.

I'd be beyond pissed if the dealer let my new truck go past 10K without changing the oil. Something's messed up here....

I change my oil at 10K in accordance with what my oil life indicator tells me and rotate the tires every oil change.

I change oil in the Ford when my gauge is showing 20%. That is usually about 8,000 miles. I change oil in my Tacoma and Honda every 10,000 miles. I have 300,000 total miles between those 2 and expect another 300,000 with no issues. None of mine need oil added between changes. I'm usually about 1/2 qt low when I change it. I do the trucks myself because I have room to get under them. I pay someone to change the Honda's oil.

Off road tires on a 4x4 need to be rotated more often and usually rotate the truck tires 5K to 7K. The Honda, once a year, but it doesn't get driven much over 10K a year.

I change my oil every 5k miles, Motorcraft 5w-30 synthetic blend. The tires are rotated either at 5k mile (if it's a freebie) or 10k (if I'm paying).

I like 5K for both. 5w-30 Motorcraft Synthetic Blend. New air filter just cause.
