How long before you can wax a new truck?

I watched way too many torture tests & Seal N Shine seemed to always be the winner AFA durability.
When Turtle Wax came out with Ceramic 1 spray, I got a few bottles of it to compare to Seal N Shine.
This is my test vehicle (lives outside) - inherited from my mother & had planned on selling it, but darn if it didn't grow on me - it's now my primary vehicle & highway cruiser. I used the mildest Griot polish & their G9 random orbital for paint correction (should have gone with 2nd level polishing) & Griot wax (for durability, not max shine).
10-28-19: I clayed hood, roof, trunk – polished hood, roof, trunk (Perfecting Cream / yellow pad), waxed hood, roof, trunk (Griot Poly Wax / red pad). Since bumpers newly painted, used Turtle Wax Ice Seal N Shine & Turtle Wax Ice Spray Wax on bumpers & sides.
9-6-20: Turtle Wax Ceramic 1 on hood, front bumper, roof – Seal N Shine on trunk, rear bumper, all glass – polished & waxed mirrors.
Darn if the hood doesn't still bead like crazy after 6 months - can't tell about the rear as I never see it while driving in the rain but I think it's still beading well also.
It makes a nice test mule since it's easy to reach all the horizontal surfaces & they're all nice & flat.

Forgot to add - the Griot's Garage synthetic clay beats the heck out of conventional clay bars (if anyone hasn't tried).
Cheaper, tougher, much easier to use - I no longer dread claying a vehicle since getting it.

I have not had a true ceramic coat applied to my truck, but I have used the ceramic spray products (I bought Meguiar's version) on several vehicles and it really performs well. On my wife's and daughter's cars, I just used the spray after a good wash, and the shine and water beading was really impressive. Using that stuff could not be easier than it is, and the application lasted for at least 3-4 months. On my truck, I did a full detail, with clay bar, light polishing, Collinite 845 wax and then ceramic spray on top, and even after a Midwestern winter, the water still beads and the painted surfaces look great.
If you nothing more now than applying some spray ceramic, you'll still keep your truck looking new a lot longer.

Don't know if you're using the term "clay bar" as a generic or are actually using a clay bar.
If you are using a true clay bar, ditch that sucker & try Griot's Synthetic Clay!
The Buick pictured above is the first vehicle I tried it on as it had a lot of surface contaminants.
After washing, just throw some more suds on the car (for lubrication) & have at it with the Synthetic Clay.
Much more ergonomic than dealing with a clay bar & if you drop it, just rinse it off (don't have to toss like you do a clay bar).
I think they say you can get around 24 uses out of one Synthetic Clay.

I would wash it, use Iron Remover, clay it, polish it, then seal it with some Graphene or Ceramic coating.

Ain't it though? The Buick felt like it had been waxed after removing all the surface contaminants with the Griot Synthetic Clay.
I'm beginning to lean towards just doing it myself - on the off chance that the truck has surface contaminants, it's a piece of cake to use the synthetic clay, probably followed up by either Griot's wax or Turtle Wax Ceramic 1 - don't know which I'll use.
BTW - checked the Buick this morning as we had a little rain last night - hard to tell, but I think the Turtle Wax Ceramic 1 may be beading slightly better than the Turtle Wax Seal N Shine, but it's close.
Hard to beat Seal N Shine for the money as I got quite a bit when our local Target had it for around $7 / bottle.
I know, I know - I can hear everybody now...he's talking price difference on Turtle Wax after ordering a King Ranch!
