how does tinting work?
Here the legal limit is 35% for the front windows and 20% for the back. I think it looks completely stupid to have my back windows at 20% and my front windows at 35% so I had them put 20% all the way around and it looks awesome… totally illegal but awesome. If I ever get pulled over for any reason, I plan to roll down all my windows so they can see inside my truck and hopefully ignore the dark window tint
Texas law says 25% on front and back windows and any tint for the rear. it said this:
Side MirrorsDual side mirrors are required if back window is tinted.
what does that mean? and what would my 01 screw have on it? 20% stock?

I've heard stories of cops making people strip their tint on the side of the road...not sure if it's some sort of urban legend or what?!?! Here in Ga. they just issue you a ticket and of course you pay it and go about your way. I haven't been ticketed in years ( knock on wood ) for window tint.
Same thing also goes here for anything under 35%. Cash only and they'll give you a receipt that says for *show only*.

as far as the question of window tint types...3M makes an excellent automotive film.
That's what I did when I got stopped last year; I rolled both front windows down so the cop couldn't see the tint. After my experience in CA I didn't want to have to re-tint my truck!
