Can anyone help me with a stuck hood latch? I don't want to break the cable by pulling too hard, but I can't get the hood open on my "01" F150

If you have a helper you can try pushing down on the hood to relieve some tension while pulling the cable. Also try "bouncing" the hood up and down. When you get it open you better spray it with WD-40 and check the cable to make sure it's not siezing. The latch also may need adjustment.

 

I had the same problem on my 2001...just shows how little I need to go in there. Finally figured out how to un-bolt the latch, took it out, lubed it, all ok now.
