That's basically the reason to switch to Retrofitted HID's in the first place. Outstanding lighting/visibility and you don't blind oncoming traffic.
Don't know about you but 95% of my night time driving is with low beams only.

 

My driving around town (DFW) is all lo beams but on the open road I'll use my hi beams when no oncoming traffic. Around town I could really drive without lights most places and see just fine.

 

Can someone tell me if 2014 FX4's come standard with HID headlights or is there an option to get Halogen Lights? I saw somewhere it was an option on the FX4's.

Also wondering for the guys talking about True Retrofits how do Retrofits compare to Stock HID Lights?

I have a set of Bilinvic retrofits and I came from Halogen Lights so I don't know how much brighter/better retrofits are than HID Lights.

I'm fairly sure that the FX4's still have the HID's as an option. I know they expanded for 2014 which trim levels get it, but I'm pretty sure you can still get halogens with the FX4.

Retrofits just have a better cutoff and they are a better projector. The factory HID projector isn't the greatest quality and a retrofit allows you to get the projector of your choice that will of course be a much higher quality. The projector is what makes all the difference.

FYI there is a projector that is a direct replacement and fit into the stock HID housing. I don't remember off hand the name of it, but there is one that will bolt right in if you ever want to upgrade.

 

EVOX-R Projectors are said to be direct replacement. Just been reading.
