HID Headlights
I have read many comments on this forum about the HID headlights, most talking about aftermarket installs. I am still on the fence as to if I should get them on a Lariat Screw that I am about to order (as mentioned in my first post). I would probably get used to the flat line across the top of their range but I still have some questions since I noticed the pattern was something like a funnel being dark or shadowy to the sides in immediately in front of the truck. Questions:
Any problem seeing to make your turns?
How are they on back country roads and will they hold up off road?
Do they have as wide a spread as halogens (lots of deer)?
How are they in fog and snow, also at twilight when it is not really dark?
Should I just get the halogens and later go after market LED?
Thanks for your help.

I recently placed an order for a King Ranch...I wanted the moon roof, and it's only available as a lux package bundle that includes the HID's. So the decision was made for me.
If nothing else, they look sharp on the front of the truck.

In a nutshell.....GET THEM GET THEM GET THEM
I had a 2011 with the halogens and they were a joke at best. Never enough light, always seemed to leave something to be desired. I paid dearly for a true retrofit to be done to that truck and it was the best money I spent on it. 1000x better than halogen.
My current 2013 Platinum came with the HID's and I could not be happier. Granted they are not as good as a true retrofit but they shine VERY well on the road and are light years better than the stock halogen ones.
This time of year might make it difficult given daylight savings time, but see if you can go to the dealer or a dealer when its dark outside and test drive one with the HID's and one without. I'm sure you can easily make up your mind then. For me personally there was never any question or doubt, the HID's are truly worth it.

I know it's after the fact and all, but I don't care for HID's. They came standard on my Mustang, and they drive me up a wall. The abrupt lighting edges, and the odd color, to my eye, is distracting. There's a sort of purplish hue at the edge of the focus beam that's not visible most times, but when it is, it looks strange. They are brighter than plain jane halogens, but I would not have bought my current truck off the lot if it had the HID's as an installed option.
