Any tips on how to clean the inside of a windshield?
I always seems to have a light coating of film and crud on it that can be seen in direct sunlight no matter how I try to clean it. I use Sprayway class cleaner and paper towels inside and I suspect there is something on the paper towels leaving this film. For the outside I mixed some Simple Green and Purple Power de-greaser with water and scrubbed it down with a soft brush and it is squeaky clean and good to go. I might have to put some of my mix in a spray bottle and hit the inside.

i use invisible glass aerosol and micro fiber towels, don't be afraid to soak the glass with the cleaner, most of your streaks come from not enough cleaner, and use the 2 rag method
The film is from all the damn plastics gassing out. Back when dashes were steel you didn't have film on your windshield.
i remember that from my 68 tbird i just sold, the windshield i only had to clean a few times a year, steel padded dash

I clean with windex and a cloth towel. I then clean again with just water on a towel and dry.
Not streaks or haze. You could soak a towel in lacquer thinner, rub it all down and then clean if it feels greasy.

I use a squeegee. Can't get the corners but the part you look through is crystal clear. I've tried the different fibers and cleaners and newspapers but the squeegee cleaning lasts the longest.
Edit hours later - In case anyone wants to try it, more details. Professional small 18 inch window washer squeegee (one of the brass hardware style meant for a broomstick), any old window cleaner, a scrubbing sponge to spread the cleaner around and foam it up (Scotch Brite non-scratching sponge foams things up well, suspending the gunk), a towel over the dash for the droppings. Spray, scrub/spread, squeegee. Use the microfiber for around the mirror and in the corners. 18 inch length is just right for two passes across the windshield.
Whenever I try the other methods there's always a residue that shows up when the window is about to fog in the cold. You can always (always) see the path of the towel, even right after, then it just gets worse from there.
