Help deciding on tires
I currently have BFG All Terrains right now and not overly impressed with them in the winter. I am looking for a good highway or AT tire with good snow traction. My driveway is an incline and with the current tires I normally need 4x4 to get into my garage. I rarely if ever will tow anything. I would like to keep road noise to a minimum. P-metric tires are currently on the truck.
I called Goodyear and the Wrangler AT Adventure with Kevlar in LT275/65/R18's are overstocked at the warehouse and can get them out the door for $900 including road hazard plus a $70 rebate.
Michelin LTX M/S2's would be $1040 out the door with no road hazard in P metric.
I think I can get the LTX A/T2's closer to the $900 OTD price as well in Pmetric.
What would you go with? Are the LT's overload or worth it for the price?

Nearly every day someone asks about tires, most are like your post - no towing, onroad, etc. If you do a search using site:www.f150forum.com SEARCH TERM HERE you should find good info including a Consumer Report article I posted. You should not need anything but P metric. LT tires are heavier and totally unnecessary.

The Michelins you reference are a top recommendation.

You've discovered what a lot of people have, that the BFG tires are severely over-rated. That interlocked tread pattern is NOT good for snow and mud traction. I have run three sets of them in the past and I won't buy them anymore.
You should look at tires that are specifically designed to be good in wet conditions. Cooper ATW, Falken A/T3W, Kumho even has a new AT designed to excel in winter conditions. There are lots of great choices out there with siping and tread designs that will hook up better on snowy and rainy roads.
Also, check out Discount Tire Direct if you want to save hundreds. I NEVER pay $900 for a set of tires. That's insane. Good luck.

If you read the "old posts", you'll see factual information that AT tires are NOT designed to drive in the snow. Getting a handful of opinions here should not guide your purchase since virtually none have done side by side comparisons of tires, nor is their feedback remotely scientifically based. Consumer Reports actually tests the tires in a controlled environment.
Once you narrow the search down, then going on sites with much large opinion bases - DiscountTire, TireRack, etc. lets you see thousands of opinions (again, largely subjective) where you can get a better idea of what works.
Here's one I wrote about the Hankook all-terrains. There are about 5 new posts a day with your same question, so a quick search in the forum might help.

Everything I have read rates the Hankook ATM's at the top of the all-terrain pyramid.
