Default Help with buying used.

Good morning all. I am looking at buying a used F150. I have it narrowed down to 2 I think. The first is a 2007 lariat with 115,000 miles in amazing condition with all bells and whistles for $18k. The 2nd is a 2011 FX4 is great condition with 135,000 highway miles for 18k. Both have had 1 owner. I k ow they have high miles. I am using it to take family camping and back and forth to work (about 2 miles each way).
I have researched bot the 5.4 and the 5.0 and people seem really happy. I want this to be my truck for a while and get as many miles as I can on it. Which would you go for.
Thank you.

18k sounds outrageous to me at least for an almost 9 year old 5.4 with 100k+ miles. As long as the 2011 is in decent shape it wouldn't be much of a choice for me.

I wouldn't even consider the 2007 at that price......

7+ years old Tier 1 lending institutions won't even touch it.
That alone makes it worth even less once it's outside that 7 year mark.

2011 is newer, 6 speed transmission, and still retains more value after your ownership ends.
If you need a posh interior, you can raid a wrecked King Ranch and pay less for it.

Ok. Thank you. So go with the 2011. Is that a decent price? Or should I try lower since the high miles?
Thank you for all your help

Although high mileage F150's are very dependable, I would consider having any used truck with a lot of mile on them mechanically inspected before purchasing. It could save you a lot of potential headaches.

Sounds a fair deal to me on 2011, pretty sure she's gonna give you more quality mileage. Good luck with the decision..
