Hello Everyone
Hi Gang,
While I own a stock 1952 F-1 pick up as a weekend driver (not show class), tomorrow I'm picking up a new 2011 F150 XLT reg cab 8 ft box pick up. It has taken 4 months almost to the day to complete this order and the dealership has been slow to offer any compensation in the way of accessories. Not really complaining just surprised.
It is the V6 3.7 and going to be in everyday use for my business. Pensioned off a 94 GMC with 167000 miles and if it were not for our Canadian emissions tests it would still be on the road but............. such is life today.
I have owned and operated Ford pick ups over the last 37 years inn my business and find them initially economical to purchase and over the years reasonable to maintain.
The old 52 flathead is TIRED but get this, recently found another flathead that came out of a dump truck with supposedly 35,000 miles. Price was right and when rigged on the driveway it started right up and idled so it will be replacing mine sometime soon.
So...... hey to those out there, Doug.

Hey,
Thanks for the hello's and welcome.
Will try and post pic's of the 52 later as I'm on the fly with the holiday weekend and having just taken posession on my new F150 reg cab XLT ......... well, you know.
As to posting pics, assume one has to go to the advanced posting and dragging and dropping is how your system works. Sorry if not sure just new to this Forum.
Everyone have a Happy and safe Easter, Doug

Taking a moment between Easter family fun to post a few pics of my current Ford stable.

My stock (other than wheels and rims) 1952 Ford F1 with flat head V8, positive ground 6 volt, 3 on the tree and 1963 Mason

At home after new dual exhaust (not headers) and brakes

Out at the Marina

AND............. as of April 21, 2011 My new 2011 F150 which only took four months (all most to the day) from date of purchase to delivery. When I picked it up at the Dealership it only had 14 km`s (8.4 miles) and there is that new vehicle smell..... I had forgotten. My last new truck was a 1993 F150 and if that had not been written off last year due to an idiot that ran a red light I would have still been driving it.
Ric, As to emmision`s testing, I`m in Southern Ontario and all vehicles (cars, trucks, big and small, RV`s) built as of 1986 have to be e-tested every two years or.... you might qualify for a conditional pass for the next two years to complete the necessary repairs in order to make your vehicle pass in order to get your license sticker. Otherwise the unit is considered NOT ABLE TO License and off the road. With what I had to do to get my 14 year owned 93 GMC to pass it just was time to get something newer (but did not go out to buy brand new) for the future.
Have not driven it 100 miles yet but so far is everything I expect. My son's really like it as does the wife so guess all is good.
Once again, wish everyone a good Holiday weekend (will enjoy it here even if it is raining and below average temps, ha, ha) Doug

Nice '52. I've seen what it takes to keep old vehicles on the road so

Hello again,
It's been awhile so here is an update.
With just enough breakin time I had a car show I wanted to attend Labour Day Weekend about 25 miles away and decided to try trailering my antique.
Handled like a dream!
Not figuring on hilly terrain driving or days on end but the trailering specs find me well within the limits so........ as this only happens three or four times a year don't think it's going to kill the truck.
Also, finally got the 52 fired up today after being in storage since 2007. Funny, after having a long rest it still smokes bad. Guess I'll get a chance to kill some mosquitoes before winter sets in.
September has been a good month so far!
