Default Heavy Duty Payload

I am curious if getting the Heavy Duty Payload option deteriorates the ride. I think I want to get an 09 or 10 Supercab 4x4 with an 8ft bed and this option. There aren't any around here to test. Anyone have one? Comments?

Thanks!!

Good luck finding one. Sales people wouldnt know what to look for even when you explain exactly where to look.

I found one. It's in Texas, I'm in Delaware. It's got 190k miles with 2 owners. Not my favorite color and it was a fleet truck then private owner. Not much on tje carfax eitjer. Hate to make a move (fly down there or bring it here sight unseen) only to realize the ride sucks.

Default Heavy payload

I don't know if this will help or not. I have an 07 F150 rclb 6 with V8 fleet truck. It has heavy payload with 18s and Goodyear Wranglers but it is 2WD with 162000 just changed the struts and shocks it rode good with old ones. Now ride is excellent like a new one. Hope this helps.

No, The HDPP doesn't ruin the ride. If you put the same LT tires on a regular f150 the ride would be the same.
The extra leaf spring doesn't stiffen the ride to much at at all. It just raises the rear by approx 1 inch so it's level with heavier loads.
Mine is a 2013 crew xlt 5.0 HDPP.

Just took this loaner back a week ago. It had an additional leaf that my '12 doesn't, and it actually rode better than my Scab with 6 1/2 bed. It also had 6 lug wheels, and the GVW was 500# less than mine.
I'm assuming it isn't a HDPP, but the additional leaf and the lower GVW has me wondering what it really is. LOL
At any rate, pretty sure the ride wouldn't be an issue.

Hey new member here....I have a screw 4x4 HD Payload F150. It does ride a little firmer than most avg F150s. I'm looking to level it soon or maybe a 4in lift. I have hauled up to 1900#s I believe and it didn't struggle at all.
