Exactly. I try not participate in the childish my truck is better than yours arguments. I drove all three brands and think each are great trucks. Ford is my current choice base on the 6.5 bed for the F150 Screw.

Should've moved to Texas...no emission regulations on diesels, period. Under state law you can legally take a brand new diesel and delete all of the emissions equipment. When I started driving about 4 years ago, you could buy F-series trucks with Common Rail 5.9s in them...or a Navstar, or a CAT, or a Detroit.

Alison's are not perfect...I have several friends who have blown them in less than 40,000 miles due to the simple fact they were running 150 hp tunes on the trucks.

Dodge transmissions aren't half bad, they are just built for Mercedes 4 cylinder engines, not the 6 cylinder Cummins engines and a 50 horse tune can increase the torque by 150 lb-ft on the 5.9s. Cummins has been experimenting with a 67 horse tune for the current 6.7 (friend has one of these stock tuned Dodges)...puts out 950 lb-ft.

The 2012 6.7 Dodge HD's don't have urea injection...neither did the 2011's. That's still one less piece of emissions BS than the Duramax and Powerstroke.

personally i think the brand rivalries are dumb. i'm all for the occasional chevy or dodge jokes, but around where i live there are some backwoods die hard chevy lovers and they will trash talk ford alllll day. but i do notice that usually those backwoods hicks always drive gm vehicles...

I have to say I've always been a Chev guy until recently I bought an F-150 (2002) and I gotta say I absolutely love it, my parents alway drove Chev so I just grew up with it and really didn't know better. I ended up leaning towards Ford because I found (in Canada anyway) that they are way more affordable than Dodge and Chevrolet even for the pre-owned trucks. Mileage ain't all that bad either.

I stand corected on the urea injection. however it is against federal law to remove or alter emisions related equipment even in Texas. Texas just doesnt enforce federal law but tha could change at any time at the whim a state politicion reaching for more federal $. I know because it happend in AZ several years ago.

True. I really don't like the fact diesel emissions are present just because the new trucks can easily make 24 mpg without the emissions...versus the 16-17 they are currently making. Not to mention the people who generally buy them don't drive much in the cities. Only two counties in the state have emissions testing (diesels exempt), otherwise the equipment just has to be present on gas vehicles.

Always had one of each. Currently, I drive the ford, my mom drives a Chevy, dad has a dodge. Mom is looking at buying a fusion, I'm looking at buying a duramax. Gotta keep it balanced.
