Gonna buy another truck... F150 or F250??
I have my 05 SuperCrew 4x4 w/ 4.6L v8... It stuggles to pull my boat compared to the wifes Tahoe with 5.6L v8... I am pulling a tracker tahoe 18ft w/ 115 mercury outboard. I want to upgrade to another truck now that I am making more money. I am thinking of another used f150 fx4 supercrew with 5.4 or a used f250 with 6.0 diesel. I now work ~ 5 miles from home so i am not too concerned with MPG... I would get 04 or newer with 30-50K miles... Any thoughts??
***Also... with an f150 I would keep my tires and edge so thats another deciding factor... eeek decisions...

I would get the Super Duty. We had a 2002 F2 and I miss it so much. We hauled a boat on ours. The only reason we got rid of her was because she was gas and not diesel. We got rid of her when they first released the 6.0. There were a ton of problems with them straight out of the box (as usual with any new motor). They have since them corrected all the issues. If you were thinking about doing a SD you could get a Bully Dog Triple downloader. We have one for our Dodge and a buddy has one for his '99 350. He is very happy with the performance of it. You can also get an outlook screen for it that fits nice on the dash or in a pod cluster on the side. The Bully is not that expensive for the older version. They just came out with a new one and it is almost two grand. I am going to wait a while before it get it for our Dodge. Have fun shopping.

How much does that weigh? It can't be much, I don't understand why your having trouble. When I had my 02 F150 Supercab (4x4, 4.6L and 3.55LS rear) it pulled my Regal 2150LSC Cuddy (21' with a 5.7L) without any trouble. It weighed with trailer, gas and gear right at 5,000lbs.
I know the newer body is heaver, what gears do you have? I remember you went bigger on your tires, how big? Have you thought about a re-gear? It would be a lot cheaper, unless you just want something new. If so, I would get a 250 if you can afford it. I would have but they're a lot of money and I like having some.

I'm gonna have to agree with most of the people. Go big or go home! F250 would be what I recomend. Then you wont have to worry much about pulling stuff anymore.

if you have the money, go with the 250...and back to the boat hauling, a buddy of mine hauls his 26" pursuit with an 03 f150 4.6 2x4...so thats kinda strange that u have troubles with it, but you should get the 250 for sure
