Idk about you guys, but my 36gal tank needs all the help I can get! A half mile for 3 cents would be worth my while

The math
Math isn't too hard. Say you need 30 gals and save 6 cents a gal; that comes to $1.80 which is about 1/2 a gal. If you are getting 16 mpg then the break even is about 8 miles.
Best bet is to know your own area and where price is usually best, then buy when your regular errands take you near the good station. Some are particular as to brand of gas and that needs to be considered as well.
