its just a catchy marketing nomenclature....like STX....

 

If it has the Rancho shocks, the fx4 wheels and a limited slip rearend, I am sure it is most likely an fx4. The fx4 decals may have been removed right away and the quarter panels were probably buffed out to to eliminate any marks the decals left.
