Default Fusible links

1984 f150 5.0 . What can I replace fusible link with other than another fusible link? A big fuse or inline fuse and what amps if so

Never replace a fuseable link with a regular fuse. Fuseable links are like slow blow fuses that are EXTREMELY slow to blow. They are designed to handle mild over current events regularly. No slow blow fuse is slow enough for this, you'd have to replace them constantly, or you'd have to get a current rating that would no longer protect the circuit.
