Front License Plate Bracket help 2016 XL
I am having a heck of a time finding a license plate bracket for our 2016 F-150 XL with the 2.7l
the lower bumper section is different than most. I attached a picture for reference. Anyone know where I can find one?
note the horizontal plastic rib looking center section. They are not vented and appear to be one piece.
not sure if the one from advanced would work. And I hate to order it, as they don’t have them in stock around here.

The oem plate mounts to the ribs. It's only $10.
There's one for trucks with the block heater, and one for trucks without it.
You've got this trim panel. In one of the photos at that link, you can see two of the slots for the license plate holder.

Your truck should have this trim piece in the bumper. It's open for additional airflow for the intercooler.

I'm thinking the original was damaged and the wrong piece was installed. And yes, the ecoboost requires additional airflow for the intercooler.

should I find the correct insert ?

Spoke with the local ford stealership and they said leaving the insert the way it is won’t cause issues unless we are towing something through the desert. And to just keep an eye on the temp on hot days.

If your truck is indeed an eco, you've got the wrong insert as has been stated and SHOULD REPLACE IT.
Having the airflow blocked off won't cause a problem per se, but with no airflow, your intercooler will be heat soaked all the time, and the engine controls will be pulling timing to deal with it. You will lose power and gas mileage, and might be operating close to detonation if you develop any other problems as the truck ages, towing or not.
The employee is an idiot for suggesting you are fine to run the truck like that. The ecos have intercoolers for a reason.
