I took it back to them 3 times before I finally said come get this POS and bring me a loaner. Which they did but I'm not going to bust ***** and demand they sell me a better truck until next week. What sucks is I baby the **** out of my trucks, had it ceramic coated, and quite a few add on's so I'm not anxious to tell them to keep it just yet. Only have 4000 miles on it.

They don't need it that long. I would not doubt it if they keep putting it aside. If they're waiting to hear back from Ford for guidance you could be driving it. If they're waiting for parts you could be driving it. If they're prioritizing other work, you could be driving it. If a dealer wants my truck for that amount of time they better be able to explain every man hour of labor and how it relates to my truck being in the shop. Can they say they've got a tech that clocked 40hrs in the last week troubleshooting this? I highly doubt it. But if they did, ask them to back it up. They should want to.

My new 2020 started doing it all the time too. I notice it when it is cold and dark first thing in the morning. I have checked the windshield and it is clean where the camera is. The camera is even within the wiper path. It is annoying though.
Haven't done it yet, but may just turn that collision warning stuff off. Not saying an accident will never happen, but have been driving big trucks over 35 years accident free, so I don't need a computer driving for me.

Just got my recall notice today for the rear camera, so maybe I'll have them check this whenever it goes in.

It's now been 4 weeks and still not fixed. The latest thing is they ordered a new windshield from Ford (7 to 10 more days ) and they hope that fixes it. I have requested they keep the truck and put me in a new one. That may be the direction I go. The dealer is also frustrated with Ford and is tired of the run around. Stick around for the conclusion.

I had a Subaru and they have a stereo camera system (Eyesight) that is used for collision mitigation and adaptive cruise control. I had to have the windshield replaced and had to use Subaru replacement glass ($200 upgrade) and then have the Eyesight recalibrated ($200) to keep the system working right. Subaru claims that the quality of the glass is critical for the proper operation of the camera. Hopefully that's your problem and the new glass will fix it.

Does this system use the camera located above the rear view mirror? If not, where exactly is the sensor on the 2020?
The camera is right above the rear view mirror. The dealer told me they changed the camera, did a software update and check, and now they want 10 days to get a new windshield from Ford. They have had the truck since Dec. 1 . They did bring me a brand new Ranger which rides nice but not built to do the job I need it for or tow my boat. I have been real cool about this whole thing, but if I don't get it corrected by the end of this week, I will be looking into the lemon law.

The issue with the collision avoidance / front camera turned out to be a defective windshield. I was told it was delaminating at the spot where the camera is. A new windshield installed and the problem went away. Although i know the camera is working, I have not been able to trigger the collision avoidance (brake) . Not sure that part is working although the dealer said everything was working.

Mine has done it before after sitting in a parking lot during a snowstorm. After it’s cleared off and sits in the garage overnight it cures it. Probably frost and ice/snow related!

I know exactly what you’re going through or went through. I have a 2019 f150 king ranch, back in July 2020 I put a 2 inch level and 285/65/r20s on it. My adaptive cruise, lane departure, and collision sensors all completely disabled since. I took into the dealership I bought it from and no luck. It was with them 2 weeks and nothing. They blamed safelite saying they put the wrong windshield on (I had gotten it replaced around November 2019, I bought the truck June 2019). Safelite said they put the right one and everyone pointed fingers. We went back and forth until about October on this.

i sat on it a bit during the holidays but come January 1 I dropped it off with a different dealer and it was there an entire month and nothing. New cameras, recalibration, etc and nothing. They checked the windshield too and found no warping or anything to cause interference. When they called to pick it up the said they got it working, but halfway to my office it went out again.

Very annoying. I understand I modified the vehicle from factory but come on. Here’s a picture of the truck for reference.

Default Front camera issues

I got the same two warnings while driving. Then had to clear both warnings every time you start the truck. I had the bed loaded so it was high in front then. Dealer replaced camera and lane assist works now but I cannot get collision avoidance to activate by intentionall driving up to something. It worked after I got the truck when a car swerved into my line and it went off. Surprised me and the car wasn’t that close. I’ve gotten closer to things but it doesn’t go off. I just want to make sure it works - if not they need to fix that still.
